AU Tender Intelligence

Open government data · 4 live sources

Know which government contract expires next, and who you have to beat.

Tender portals show you what is open today. They never show you the contract that quietly ends in 86 days, the supplier who has held it for nine consecutive terms, or roughly when the agency will approach the market again. That is the entire product.

Each row is a contract with a published end date. The score blends how soon it ends, how much it is worth, and how entrenched the incumbent is. Every one of the ≥14,181 expiring contracts is scored; the 1,210 highest-scoring make the radar.

What this does that a tender portal cannot

Contract-expiry radar

Every contract with a disclosed end date becomes a dated, scored re-procurement candidate — typically months before any tender is advertised.

Incumbent identification

The supplier currently holding the work is named, with a count of how many times that buyer has awarded to them. That is who you are displacing.

Entity resolution by ABN

Suppliers are merged on ABN, so "X Pty Ltd" and "X T/As Y" are one company. 778 resolved suppliers, zero ABNs split across names.

Cross-jurisdiction, one schema

Commonwealth OCDS, Queensland disclosure, grants and the hybrid middle (rural R&D corporations) normalise into a single record shape.

Coverage — stated honestly

Open data is uneven, and a tool that hides that is lying to you. Renewal scoring requires a published end date; where a source rarely publishes one, it contributes spend and incumbent intelligence but few renewal candidates.

Read the Queensland row carefully. Our ingest samples a few of 76 per-agency data.qld disclosure datasets, and agencies differ wildly in what they publish — so those percentages describe the agencies we sampled, not Queensland. Surveyed across every dataset (42,838 rows, 2026-07-16): 2% disclose a contract end date (856 rows, from just 11 agencies), 89% a value, and 51% a supplier ABN. Queensland therefore contributes spend and incumbent intelligence, but almost no renewal candidates — not because we do not look, but because the end date is not published.

Coverage is measured over the 366 records in the most recent ingest pull. The 1210 radar opportunities come from a separate query against the same AusTender feed (contracts ending rather than published in the window), so they are excluded here — every one of them has an end date by definition, and counting them would report this column as 100%.

Sources whose terms prohibit commercial reuse or automated access — Tenders WA, SA, ACT, TAS and NT — are deliberately excluded. See Data & licensing.
